Election year. The word that immediately pops into my head when I hear this is: GROSS. Every four years, this country loses its mind even more than usual when two over-the-hill geriatrics vie for the “top spot” in our government. With the advent of social media, things have gotten out-of-hand. The energy and landscape of this country is divided as it is: black vs. white, men vs. women, Democrat vs. Republican, Coke vs. Pepsi, Keto vs. Atkins, and the list goes on and on. This society is designed to keep us arguing with each other. The reductionist mindset is propagated everywhere you look so that we are kept in a constant state of low vibration.
Think back to 2020. The sheer outrageousness of that year is indelibly etched into my consciousness. Not only that, but do you remember how it FELT? The mask mandates, lockdowns, and social distancing were wild enough. On top of all that, George Floyd was killed by a white police officer on camera. Chants of “defund the police” were heard throughout many American cities as riots raged in the background. All the while, attention seeking minions were filming these horrific events on their phones. There was a palpable energy in the air that made it feel as though terrible things were going to pop off at any time. Some would argue that this energy continued into early 2021 and culminated with the Capitol riots on Jan 6th.
